FB Remote I/O

The FB remote I/O system for installation in Zone 1 is a modular system for signal adaptation between field devices in hazardous areas and control systems in safe areas. With the remote I/O system, the field device signals are transmitted to a process control system with a standardized bus protocol (PROFINET, PROFIBUS, Modbus and others) via one single fieldbus cable .

With the PROFINET gateway, the remote I/O system can be connected to IIoT applications via Ethernet networks. Most analogue field devices support HART so that HART can be used for parameterization and diagnostics in the control system. For this purpose, the remote I/O system with HART-IP has a function for forwarding the HART data from the field devices to the control system.

The plug-in I/O modules can be installed during operation without a fire permit. A wide range of single and multi-channel I/O modules with field signals in Ex ia/Ex ib types of protection or Ex e connection technology enables a universal system design.
