Light Grids

Light grids consist of a transmitter and a receiver unit with a parallel array of a large number of infrared through beams. They have a two-dimensional detection field and are used for monitoring large areas. In spite of the simple operating principle, Pepperl+Fuchs offers an array of specialized light grids. Key features include large light beam angles ensuring easy alignment, “Teach-in” functions permitting fast adjustment, and crossed light beams increasing the resolution of the light grids. Additonally, automatic calibration of the signal strength ensures safe operation even in dirty or dusty areas.
